Autumn is my favorite time of year. I love the crisp air, cozy sweaters, thick socks, soup on the stove, and a magical movie on the tv. I adore back to school and Halloween. King Arthur Flour Baker's Companion
An essential for any kitchen! This cookbook features the best recipes for baking. For fall I love the "Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread,"Maple Cornbread," and "Soft Molasses Cookies." Pair any fall recipe from this cookbook with Harney & Sons "Hot Cinnamon Spice" tea for an ideal morning or afternoon.
Silver Palate Cookbook
A staple. The recipes can be quite laborious, which makes them perfect for colder weather. I inherited my grandmothers copy, annotated with her notes. It is one of my prized possessions.
Silver Palate Good Times Cookbook
A cookbook that you will not only want to cook from, but also read. The illustrations inside are beyond charming and sprinkled throughout the book are tips and tricks featuring everything from menu pairings to how to decorate for each holiday. This cookbook is truly lovely.
New England Soup Factory Cookbook
If you adore soup this cookbook is necessary. Growing up we would spend a few weeks of winter in Vermont and my mother would always cook soup recipes from this book. I especially love the butternut squash soup and the spinach, feta, and toasted pine nut soup.
Colorado Classique
Junior League cookbooks are a not so hidden secret. If you want the best recipes from a certain region, purchase a Junior League cookbook. Colorado Classique is one of my favorite Junior League cookbooks. Be sure to try the "Chicken tortilla soup" and the "Thai Chicken and Coconut Soup."
Cold Weather Cooking
Sarah Leah Chase is one of my favorite chefs and this cookbook is true perfection! My mother uses it to cook Thanksgiving dinner and I love the tortellini soup. Like Silver Palate Good Times Cookbook, Cold Weather Cooking features charming illustrations.
